Higher Education
AKM Group has now worked in the tertiary sector for over 10 years, applying globally recognised concepts of Performance Excellence and practical methods that can be easily applied to achieve sustained levels of excellence.
We have provided support and advice to enable Divisions such as -
- IT Services - particularly The University of Queensland (UQ) - initial certification to ISO 9001 in 2005 and 3rd year triennial 2008
- Property and Facilities Management
- Business Schools, and
- in the case of UQ - The Centre for Magnetic Resonance Workshop - which is heavily involved in the design and manufacture of medical devices and associated software
to implement integrated Management Systems - which have enabled them to meet the requirements for full ISO Certification.
In 1996 The University of Queensland was the first tertiary institution to achieve ISO Certification for their Property and Facilities Section and, even more outstanding this was for an 'Integrated Management System' which took into account the three aspects critical to the Division:
- Quality - ISO 9001
- Environmental - ISO 14000
- OH&S systems - AS/NZS 4801
This has been an ongoing relationship with provision of support for reviews and reassessment.
